|01:47 pm - I love this puzzle.|
It's surprisingly tricky.

Is the answer, "Diabeetus"?
25? Unless I'm missing something, that seemed super easy.
Treating it as an algebra question, agreed. And I get 25 as well.
-- Steve's wondering if there's a layer he missed.
D'oh! Now I see where I went wrong.
-- Steve's eye got lazy. That's his excuse and he's sticking to it.
There's at least three tricks in it.
You did miss something! 25 is wrong.
Oh yes, I see what I missed!
In that case I need to know what "two things next to each other" is notating.
If it's addition, 15
If it's multiplication, 19.1421356237
I think of them like physical objects: 2 fries + 2 fries = 4, therefore 1 fries = 1.
Like I said above, three tricks. None complicated, all just waiting to trip you up.
So 15 is the correct answer? If so, I get it. If not, I'm lost!
I believe 15 is the most correct answer, yes.
x + x + x = 30; x = 10
 + y + y = 20; y = 5
 + 2z + 2z = 9; z = 1
5 + 1 * 10 = 50 if I remember my operator precedence right.
Where did I screw up?
Edit: missed the doubling

: (5+1)*10 is not 50.#2
: Multiplication comes before addition. So the last line is 5 + (1*10)
But you got the other two tricks.

I get around 1090 calories and pricing and participation may vary. It is a Big Mac, medium fries and a medium coke right?
