Note that this is handling only the direct accounts from Cheney and Armstrong in those two sources - he doesn't begin to cover the alcohol question (Armstrong says no alcohol was present at all, Cheney says he'd had beer with lunch) or the fact that neither shooter had valid hunting licenses, or that they were, by Armstrong's own admission, hunting from their car.
