FYI: for your UPS take a look at Personal Solution Pac 3.0. I just read about it today. Could be worth it.

apcupsd is another one that works only (I think) with apc power supplies.

It's an APC-brand UPS. I'll take a look.

APC's website appears to lack a whole lot of potentially useful stuff for linux, like, instructions.
