Friday Tradition!
Yes, I got home okay. The roads are surprisingly clear and good for a day with as much semifrozen shit falling from the sky as this one.
For this week, I have something a bit different: The Gregorian chant version of Dire Straits' Brothers In Arms
And now, it's your turn. I get very little feedback on these, beyond seeing the occasional re-linking. What do you want to see? More serious covers of really-well-known songs, like Guns & Roses with Elton John covering Bohemian Rhapsody, or Black Sabbath doing Smoke On The Water, or Slayer covering Inna-gadda-davida? Or would you rather less serious covers, like Devo covering Nine Inch Nails' Head Like A Hole or Thou Shalt Not doing a killer swing version of Front 242's industrial anthem Headhunter?
Do you prefer version that mimic the original song in style and pacing, like Jag Panzer's The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald, or that redo the song in a recognisable but truly distinct way, like Judas Priest doing Johnny B Goode?
(And you may have noticed I've got a LOT of hard rock and metal covers. This should not be a surprise. Still, how many people here would even know the original if I posted Cradle Of Filth covering Hallowed Be Thy Name or Kamelot doing The Flight Of Icarus?)
